Campobello Island

   One of The Fundy Isles, Campobello Island can be
   reached by a non-toll bridge from Lubec, Maine, or
   by Ferry from Deer Island, New Brunswick (July and
   August only). The Ferry From Deer Island to the
   Mainland at Letite' is a free service.

   Campobello has two wilderness parks, the
   Roosevelt-Campobello International Park and
   The Herring Cove Provincial Park.
   A nine-hole golf course overlooking the ocean,
   and overnight camping with R.V. sites.

    The Island boasts some of the most spectacular
    unspoiled coastline on the Eastern Seaboard.

    A perfect location for Eco-Tourism, Campobello is
    home to a variety of wildlife, such as Whales, Seals,
    Eagles and Ospreys.

     There are Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfast, Motels,
     and House Keeping Villa's, which, together with
     several Resturants, will add to your holiday
     enjoyment.

    Herring Cove Provincial Park includes spacious
    camping and RV areas and a scenic nine hole
    golf course.

    Campobello Island also boasts on the finest gift
    shops in Canada, namely, Campobello Gift House.

Campobello Island boasts some spectacular hiking trails along the cliffs & ocean. Trail maps can be found at both park offices and information at the Campobello Gift House.

Bring your own Kayak or ask at the Tourist Information centre about rentals. The Tourist Information office is the first building on the right after Canada Customs.

Be sure to watch out for Bald Eagles, Ospreys or the occassional Moose, as well as a huge variety of land and sea birds,

There are two Whale watching operations on the Island. One leaves from Head harbor, the other from the North Road Wharf.You may see Finbacks, Minkies, Humpbacks and the occassional Wright Whale. Dress warm and don't forget your camera.

The Roosevelt International park is located on Campobello Island, across the bridge from Lubec Maine, with means it is in Canada. All foreign visitors are required to show photo ID and have the correct papers for minors and animals. Firearms, Liquor and Tobacco must be declared. You will find Canadian Customs & Immigration officers friendly and courtious, but as always, honesty is by far the best policy.
