CROSSING THE BORDERS: CELTIC FOLK MUSIC
ABOUT THE BAND
Crossing the Borders is a collective of musicians who's main interest lies in British roots, Celtic and American bluegrass music. The group first formed about fifteen years ago, and over that period they have have performed up and down the East coast of Maine and New Brunswick. All the musicians on this CD work with a number of other groups and are highly respected in the region.
This collection from Crossing the Borders represents a selection of music they have performed over the years. The Cd includes folk music from both Britain and North American, most of which has it’s roots in Celtic music. The fact that some of these tracks suggest a style more closely related to Appalachian or Bluegrass music, demonstrates the dynamic nature of the folk music tradition.
