Southern Head at Herring Cove Beach
The provincial park offers a wide variety of services and outdoor activities. Aside from camping (secluded sites are available) and R.V. facilities, the two mile crescent beach is one of the cleanest wilderness shorelines on the east coast.

The nine hole golf course, which has a beautiful view of Grand Manan and the Bay of Fundy, also maintains a pro golf shop and restaurant. By any standards the rates for golfing are reasonable.

Woodland walking trails in the provincial park are excellent, perhaps even ideal for mountain biking. Trail maps can be obtained from the park office on Herring Cove road..

The Herring Cove Provincial Park is a good base from which to explore the whole area. Points of interest being: Roosevelt Park, whale watching, hiking, kayaking, lighthouses and the West Quoddy State Park in Lubec, Maine.

The summer ferry to deer island and Eastport is a good day trip. Passengers can walk on with a bike, or drive the “Quoody Loop”. This is a round trip of the area which will take a day.

R.V. visitors should remember that this is a wilderness park not a trailer park. They offer electrical hook-ups on nice sites. There are dumping stations, good washrooms and laundry facilities, but not the full hook-ups that some R.V. travelers might expect.

BAY OF THE GIANT TIDES
The Bay of Fundy boasts some of the heaviest tides in the world, where 24ft.tides are not exceptional.
DANGER
The waters are exceptionally cold, the currents very strong.

Boaters, swimmers and kiakers should wear wetsuits or be extreamly respectful of these waters.
